About

Hello there! I am Stuti Mishra and I graduated in June 2020 from Princeton University, where I majored in quantitative economics and minored in finance and German language. I currently work and reside in Chicago, where I am a Sr. Finance Analyst at the Kraft Heinz Company.

In 2012 I was the National Runner Up of the Scripps National Spelling Bee, and in 2011 a nineteenth-rank semifinalist of the Scripps National Spelling Bee. I am also the 2011 Champion of the North South Foundation’s Senior Spelling Bee and the National Runner Up of 2011 South Asian Spelling Bee.

Saturdays with Stuti began 10 years ago as a bimonthly spelling & language club that I founded at my public library back in the fall of 2012. I desperately missed the world of words after my final year of eligibility in the 2012 Scripps National Spelling Bee. In order to fill that void, I wanted to give what I had learned throughout my spelling bee journey back to the community. Held every other Saturday at my local library, the “Saturdays with Stuti” community delved deep into the beautiful intricacies of several different languages across the globe.

I realized soon after that I wanted to take “Saturdays with Stuti” to the next level by sharing these learnings with the global community, right here! Beginning in 2013, I created and posted a video every Saturday. These videos are organized here in a serial progression, beginning with introduction videos that outline basic information ranging from what spelling bees are to pronouncing dictionary phonetics. After these videos, most of the videos cover a certain language, diving deep into its specific history, example English words borrowed from that language, and the rules and patterns that determine the spelling of those words.

Orthography and learning the spelling of words is an exciting journey that I believe truly never ends for anyone. I’m so excited to have you embark on that journey with me through my videos here.
